Scrum Master

Position: Scrum Master

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

Client: State of CA

• Assist the Scrum Team on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
• Identify distractions or roadblocks that can hinder the Scrum Team's progress and remove any impediments.
• Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies to include Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective and keep meetings timeboxed.
• Assist the Product Owner in developing techniques for effective product goal definition
• Assist the Product Owner in prioritizing the product backlog in an ordered list of new features, bug fixes, changes to the existing feature or other related activities that are required to achieve specific outcomes based on business needs.
• Ensure Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items (i.e., user stories, tasks) and its value to the Product Goal
• Establish empirical product planning for a complex environment
• Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed
• Provide training and coaching the client in the Scrum adoption, including tools, techniques, and frameworks.
• Plan and advise Scrum implementations within the organization
• Help stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work

The Mandatory Qualifications:

1. Hold and maintain a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner certificate or a Certified Scrum Professional certificate.

2. Two (2) years of experience in team management in a distributed environment.

3. Five (5) years of experience as a Scrum Master.

4. Three (3) years of experience as a Scrum Master to multiple Agile project teams.

The Desirable Qualifications:

1. Experience as a leading role in at least two (2) complex, mission critical, highly visible Agile Projects.

2. Three (3) years of experience providing Technical Writing and Agile documentation quality assurance within Agile project teams.

3. Three (3) years of experience coaching teams in transition from traditional waterfall software development lifecycles to Agile methodology.

4. Three (3) years of experience facilitating requirements gathering, epics, themes, features, user stories, and completing agile documentation, product backlog, prioritization, roadmap, sprint planning, retrospective, and continuous improvement processes.
