Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent experience in the legal field
  • Minimum of 3 years as a litigation paralegal or highly qualified litigation legal assistant
  • High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • HIPAA certification is mandatory with recertification required

Requirements:

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and insurance professionals to assist with the delivery of initial case materials and ongoing records throughout the case
  • Manage ongoing medical expert commitments throughout the legal progression of cases; coordinate with the client and expert to schedule medical exams, depositions, and trial appearances and meet all deadlines
  • Serve as the liaison for over 300 active cases, responding to questions, requests, needs, and updates; act as the single point of contact for all expert inquiries and dispute coordination and resolution
  • Work with the sales team to act as a point of contact for new and current clients and continuously improve all aspects of an expert’s engagement

JOB SUMMARY:


The Case Manager is responsible for managing an extensive portfolio of cases and serves as the primary point of contact for attorney clients and medical experts involved in these matters. This role involves coordinating all events related to the case portfolio and includes direct interaction with the experts, their staff, and our clients. Case Managers maintain regular communication with clients and engaged experts, delivering high-touch service and keeping them updated on the case status. The ideal candidate will be motivated, creative, analytical, and efficient, with the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion. Additionally, they must possess superior organizational and relationship management skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow and demonstrate IMS Core Values
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and insurance professionals to assist with the delivery of initial case materials and additional records throughout the case
  • Manage the ongoing medical expert commitments throughout the legal progression of cases
  • Educate the expert as to roles and responsibilities in an engagement with IMS
  • Coordinate with the client and expert to schedule medical exams, depositions, and trial appearances as well as meet all deadlines
  • Serve as the liaison for over 300 active cases, responding to questions, requests, needs, and updates
  • Work together with the sales team to act as a point of contact for new and current clients
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all expert inquiries and dispute coordination and resolution
  • Continuously work to improve all aspects of an expert’s engagement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with the legal system and law practices
  • Knowledge of the discovery process and its relationship to State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure  
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to achieve position objectives and goals
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Demonstrates initiative, follow through and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve creatively, effectively, and efficiently
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members and contribute to team projects and requirements

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent experience in the legal field
  • Minimum of 3 years as a litigation paralegal or highly qualified litigation legal assistant
  • High proficiency with MS Office specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is expected
  • Familiarity with legal database systems is essential
  • HIPAA certification is mandatory with recertification required

LOCATION:

This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones. Qualified candidates must reside in one of the following states:  TX, NC, SC, FL, GA, VA, AZ, IL, CO.
