Senior Civil Technical Lead

SUMMARY 

Responsible for utilizing their experience and knowledge of engineering principles and practices on various project assignments in support of the firm’s aviation practice. A leadership position which includes managerial and/or technical direction for the overall project team or for the portion of the project they have been assigned to manage. Responsible for the project team’s adherence to the quality control/quality assurance guidelines.

Our Transportation division is a talented team of experts working together to deliver engineering solutions that move people in a smarter way. We provide full-service planning, design and construction management services on everything from roadways and bridges to airports, stormwater infrastructure, and parks/recreation projects primarily for state and local agencies and municipalities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and reviewing specific project components, including airport and airfield design, grading, drainage, pavement, roadway design, stormwater management and detention, and utilities, using standard engineering practices and techniques.
   
• Oversees and reviews work performed by others in the preparation of project deliverables, including reports, contract plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications.
   
• Develops project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
   
• Manages projects to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
   
• Manages staff and subconsultants assigned to projects.
   
• Monitors team members’ adherence to Primera procedures and policies.
   
• Mentors and trains project staff members.
   
• Performs project-specific assignments as required.
   
• Manages client relationships by meeting with clients, regulators, and agencies to develop strong professional partnerships. Collaborates with the Department/Group Manager to market Primera’s services to existing and potential clients.
   
• Assists in the development of new business through client meetings and participation in promotional activities.
   
• Prepares project invoices and progress reports in accordance with client requirements.
   
• Develops marketing materials and proposals, including RFPs, RFQs, and SOQs.
   
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department/Group Manager.
   

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated accomplishment performing the duties and responsibilities listed above.
   
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
   
• Knowledge of Civil 3D or GEOPAK preferred.
   
• Strong research, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills.
   
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
   
• Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities.
   
• Knowledge of aviation industry standards, codes, and practices.
   

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or a related field required.
   
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
   
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
