Requirements:

  • LMS Training Module Creation: Develop training modules and resources for SUD pharmacist clinical services, including certification, billing, and implementation of a second responder program in collaboration with DOH, JABSOM, DKICP, and UHP
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with contracts and policies of DOH, JABSOM, DKICP, UH, and UHP
  • Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with other trainers and team members to align module content and provide updates on progress and deliverables
  • Meetings, Reporting, and Outreach: Attend meetings, manage deliverables and deadlines, assist with research, data validation, and reporting to DOH, and identify pharmacies/pharmacists to be trained

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

University Health Partners of Hawaii is the Faculty Practice of the John A Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). In conjunction with the State of Hawaii's Department of Health - Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, JABSOM and UHP are expanding Hawaii UTelehealth (HUT) to provide access to no-cost addiction medicine treatment for the State of Hawaii. Our new Telehealth Addiction Medicine program is founded on the belief that everyone deserves a path to recovery. We aim to provide evidence-based, patient-centered, and non-judgmental care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), meeting them wherever they are in their journey. 

The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Pharmacist Trainer will be responsible for creating training documents and modules for pharmacists and other participants who will be part of a closed pharmacy network to provide SUD clinical services. The SUD Pharmacist Trainer will support the training of applicable staff in the network who will provide SUD clinical services on operating policies/procedures including credentialing and billing through a Hawaii Department of Health contract and/or other insurer.

Location: 100% Remote 


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • LMS Training Module Creation.  Creates training modules and associated resources related to the certification, billing, and delivery of pharmacist clinical services for SUD, with a focus on implementation of a second responder program following opioid overdose in collaboration with the Hawaii Department of Health, John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP), and University Health Partners.
  • Compliance.   Ensures compliance with requirements of all third parties (e.g. Department of Health) contracts, JABSOM, DKICP, University of Hawaii, and University Health Partners, Inc. (UHP).
  • Communication.   Responsible for communicating with other trainers and team members to coordinate content of the modules, provide updates on progress and deliverables. 
  • Meeting Attendance.  Responsible for attending staff and other meetings to support advancement of project goals. 
  • Time Management.  Meets deadlines for deliverables. 
  • Research and Reporting.  Assist with performing research, data and information validation, and reporting duties for UHP and DKICP to the Hawaii Department of Health.  
  • As Needed.   Assists with identifying pharmacies and pharmacists to be trained in fulfillment of project goals.
  • Complies with all legal requirements and company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Training/ Experience

Minimum:

  • PharmD or other advanced degree in a relevant area
    • 24 months experience as a practicing pharmacist or accredited residency equivalent delivering pharmacy education or training

Preferred:

  • Licensed Pharmacist by the State of Hawaii Board of Pharmacy
  • 24 months experience in an area related to training module creation
  • Delivery of online pharmacy education or continuing education

Skills/Knowledge

Preferred:

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of pharmacy/medicine and common operating procedures/practices
  • Strong technical (medical) writing ability
  • Knowledge/Experience with Powerpoint, Word, etc.
