Job description

This is a remote position.

Our partner is a company in the Online Media industry. They are looking to expand their team with a DevOps Engineer from Europe.

As a DevOps Engineer you will discuss, design and implement system architecture components and support your fellow developers with their local environments. You will manage up to three Kubernetes clusters of 12+ microservices on Google Cloud Platform, setup CI with GitHub Actions, and CD pipelines with Spinnaker. monitoring and alerts with Prometheus & Grafana, most importantly, guarantee the availability of the platform with the least downtime possible.

Skills

Understand, discuss and implement technical specifications in the form of written text and visual diagrams
Write and maintain efficient, reusable, clean manifests and templates
Think ahead and communicate design decisions prior to implementation
Provide task estimations with eagerness to deliver on time at a very low risk for delays
Eagerness to learn new programming languages and defy your comfort zone with new tools
Perform root cause analysis on outages and anomalies

Requirements

2+ years maintaining production-grade Linux machines
2+ years working with Docker or similar containerization tools
Managed a production-grade Kubernetes cluster

Automated an SSL certificate renewal process
Managed a database cluster
Worked with networking concepts such as Firewall, NAT, Subnetting, VPC, VPN, etc.
Written automation scripts using any of the languages: Bash, Go, Python
Setup monitoring and alerts for critical platform availability components
Used Git for source versioning control
Worked in an agile environment
