Roles & Responsibilities

3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
5+ years of hands-on system administration experience
1+ Associate level AWS certification or willingness to obtain certification within one month of starting
Linux system administration and Bash scripting

Requirements:

Design, implement and support cloud systems across AWS, Linux/Windows servers, serverless technologies, Kubernetes, and databases
Develop automation and scripting using Bash, PowerShell and Python; implement Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
Ensure highly available, scalable web services and APIs with distributed networks and DNS/HTTP configurations
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during office hours and on-call; pursue ongoing learning and certifications

Job description

This is a remote position.

You will deliver technical solutions using cutting edge technologies and industry best practices to implement and administer cloud platforms for 56Bit’s customers. The Cloud Engineer promotes the use of automation to solve technical challenges, and strives to create elegant, reliable and cost-effective solutions as part of a project or task deliverable.

Design, Implement and Support systems related to the following technologies:

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Linux and Windows servers
Bash and PowerShell Scripting
Infrastructure as Code
Web services and APIs
Distributed networks
Databases
CI/CD and DevOps
Python Scripting
Highly available and scalable applications
Serverless technologies
Kubernetes and similar technologies

Troubleshooting and solving technical problems, during office hours and/or outside office hours as part of a Support roster
Learn and get certified in new technologies

Requirements

Technical Requirements

3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
5+ years of hands-on system administration experience
1+ Associate level certification in AWS or have the knowledge, experience and willingness to get certified within a month of starting with 56Bit
Linux System Administration & Bash scripting
AWS Well-Architected Framework
Web services, API, REST
TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and distributed networks
Database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Terraform
CI/CD (AWS Code Services, GitHub, Bitbucket and/or GitLab)
Basic experience in at least one programming language (Python preferred)
Work experience in infrastructure, database and network administration for highly available and scalable applications

Would be considered an asset

AWS Serverless technologies
Kubernetes
Professional or Speciality level AWS certification(s)
