Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly experienced Family Lawyer to provide expert legal services in family law matters for Australian clients. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in the Australian legal system and a proven track record managing complex family law cases, including divorce, child custody, property settlements, and spousal maintenance. This role is perfect for a lawyer who excels in both negotiation and litigation and has a client-focused approach in often emotionally charged legal situations.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute legal strategy on a range of family law matters including parenting orders, divorce, property division, and spousal maintenance.
Draft and review court documents such as affidavits, consent orders, and binding financial agreements.
Conduct legal research and keep up to date with changes in Australian family law.
Collaborate with other remote legal professionals and support staff to ensure smooth case progression.
Maintain meticulous case records and utilize legal software for matter management and client communication.

Requirements

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) with knowledge of family law.

3+ years of direct experience handling complex family law cases.

Demonstrated ability to manage matters from intake through resolution and through ADR methods.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with sensitivity to the emotional nature of family law.

Familiarity with legal practice management tools and remote work systems.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of service and integrity.

Strong time management and organizational skills in a fully remote environment.
