Roles & Responsibilities

Senior PHP Developer with strong experience in PHP 8.2+ and building scalable backend services.
Experience with complementary technologies such as Node.js, Golang, or C++.
Proficiency with data-intensive databases and tools: MariaDB, large-volume time-series databases (TiDB), ElasticSearch, Redis, and Memcached.
Hands-on experience with Git/GitLab, CI pipelines, Docker, and modern development practices; willingness to experiment with new technologies.

Requirements:

Develop and maintain existing and new product solutions (e.g., driver behavior analysis, online maps, tachograph solutions) using PHP 8.2+.
Collaborate with Backend and Frontend developers, QA specialists, and Product Owner under guidance of an experienced technical lead.
Contribute to the design and implementation of systems handling large data volumes using MariaDB, TiDB, ElasticSearch, Redis.
Utilize GitLab with CI pipelines, Docker for development and testing, and explore new technologies and tools to reach project goals.

Job description

Mapon, a part of the Draugiem Group, is one of Northern Europe's leading providers of B2B fleet management and tracking solutions. With over 30,000 clients and an extensive partner network in Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Croatia, Poland, Lithuania, Ireland and Ukraine, we employ over 200 professionals in our offices in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Ireland and Spain.

We are currently seeking a Senior PHP Programmer to join our team and work on developing both existing and new product solutions, such as driver behavior analysis, online maps, tachograph solutions, and more. We have a wealth of ideas and visions, and we need your help to bring them to life.

👉 The team:

Currently, we have 7 development teams, and we are looking for a Senior PHP Developer - Smart Operations and Fleet Efficiency. Our teams develops, enhances and maintains solutions which allow our clients to digitize, automate and optimize their current fleet management processes, as well as creating new, innovative and integrated solutions.

In the team, you would be working under the guidance of an experienced technical lead and together with several Back-End and Front-End developers, as well as QA specialists and a Product Owner.

⚙️ Tech-stack:

For Back-End development we primarily use PHP (8.2+), as well as Node.js, Golang and C++;
For Front-End development we use React framework;
We use MariaDB (SQL) for primary data storage, for large volume timeseries data we use TiDB cluster;
We use several additional technologies to assist with working with large data volumes: ElasticSearch, Redis, Memcached;
We use Sentry, Grafana & Prometheus combo for monitoring our solution application performance (APM);
We use git for version control and Gitlab for hosting the code repositories;
We use Gitlab CI pipelines for automating various tasks;
Docker is used for development and test environments;
Use of various Gen AI tools for development and other day-to-day activities is actively supported and encouraged;
We are open for experiments with new technologies and tools - we always aim to choose the best tool for reaching our goals

💰 Salary starting from 2500 EUR to 5500 EUR before taxes (depending on skills & experience) (as the position is remote, this would require to sign B2B contract with an employee);
