  • Bachelor's degree preferred and active credential from ACDIS, AHIMA, or AAPC.

  • Strong industry knowledge and demonstrated subject matter expertise in mid-revenue cycle operations including CDI/HIM operations, strong clinical background, OP/Profee coding knowledge, risk adjustment methodologies, value-based care initiatives and other key industry trends/drivers.

Job description

UASI is seeking an experienced Outpatient CDI Project Leader to join our growing team.  The Outpatient CDI Project Leader will have deep subject matter expertise in outpatient CDI and will serve as the primary point of accountability for assigned projects, guiding staff, reviewing client deliverables, and partnering with clients to implement sustainable outpatient documentation improvement strategies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the subject matter expert to lead, monitor and evaluate project results for the client while balancing quality and profitability.
  • Ensure clarity and alignment with clients surrounding UASI services/deliverables and manage client scope and expectations through regular communication meetings.
  • Use critical thinking skills to assess client’s current state and goals, conduct operational assessment, and implement actions to meet project and client goals.
  • Lead project kick off meetings in accordance with the procedures identified in the project tool kit and ensure staff expertise is appropriate to achieve outcomes.
  • Provide mentoring and training to staff by sharing expertise related to project deliverables, client communication, project methodologies, analysis of data and trends, etc. all within a collaborative and supportive structure.
  • Monitor key metrics including productivity, staff utilization, and managing “miscellaneous” non-attributable time.
  • Use expertise to identify new opportunities, collaborate with Sales/Account Management Team, and cultivate trusted relationships with our clients by using SME to demonstrate value.
  • Leverages professional network and demonstrate expertise through market facing activities including professional organizations, speaking, or serving as a UASI Ambassador.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and active credential from ACDIS, AHIMA, or AAPC.
  • Subject matter expertise specifically with Outpatient CDI in a consulting environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills including the ability to perform client discovery, create and deliver solutions to achieve outcomes, and deliver proposals with impact to key stakeholders.
  • Proven foundational consulting skills including analytical and critical thinking skills as well as written and verbal communication, client presence and presentation skills.
  • Strong industry knowledge and demonstrated subject matter expertise in mid-revenue cycle operations including CDI/HIM operations, strong clinical background, OP/Profee coding knowledge, risk adjustment methodologies, value-based care initiatives and other key industry trends/drivers.
