Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (Master's degree in Law or compatible fields would be a plus)
  • 2-4 years of experience in a contract department of a reputable in-house company, corporate secretarial, or related function, preferably managing multiple jurisdictions or experience in an international law firm
  • Strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks across different jurisdictions; excellent contract drafting skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills; proactive, adaptable, and able to work under tight deadlines; advanced English; Russian language skills are a plus

Requirements:

  • Act as a trusted legal counsel to the contracts team and advise commercial, technology, and HR teams with pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts across diverse jurisdictions; prepare term sheets (letters of intent) and draft final agreements; manage the entire contract lifecycle with documentation of all negotiation stages
  • Guide internal teams on standard form documents and templates; maintain and organize the contract repository, power of attorney database, and project workspaces (e.g., Notion, Confluence); prepare management reports and perform quality control of legal/compliance documentation
  • Provide support to other Eqvilent legal teams as requested

Job description

Your future mission is to help the Legal & Compliance team handle commercial and employment contracts and address various legal matters, delivering professional excellence and integrity at every step. 


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Legal Counsel & Partnership: Act as a trusted legal counsel of contract team and advise to commercial, technology, and HR  teams, offering pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice on a wide array of issues. Build and sustain trust across the company by delivering high-quality, responsive, and business-aligned legal support.
  • Contract Management & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with counterparties across diverse jurisdictions, ensuring enforceability and compliance with applicable governing laws. Prepare and negotiate term sheets (letters of intent) and draft final agreements based on agreed terms. Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and internal approval to closing, while meticulously documenting all negotiation stages.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Guide internal teams on the use of standard form documents and templates, and assist the legal team in their regular update and development. Maintain and organize the contract repository, power of attorney database, and project workspaces (e.g., Notion, Confluence). Prepare management reports summarizing contract activity, negotiation progress, and project status. Perform quality control ("second-pair-of-eyes") reviews of Legal and Compliance documentation. Ensure all pre-agreed legal steps within business processes are completed accurately and on time, including internal and external filings.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide support to other Eqvilent legal teams as requested.

Education and Experience

  • Strong understanding of general principles of contract law, corporate governance, legal, and regulatory frameworks across different jurisdictions (common law and continental law)
  • Excellent contracts drafting skills and effective AI prompts writing skills
  • Ability to identify risks and focus on providing solutions that align with the business goals and the market practice
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive approach and dedication to work
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent data organization and data management skills, ensuring that all information is correctly classified and kept up-to-date
  • Advanced knowledge of English
  • Nice to have - fluent Russian
