Job description

Job Title: Credentialing Specialist

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Responsibilities

  • Manages provider credentialing and recredentialing with payers and networks
  • Collects, verifies, and maintains clinician licenses, certifications, and required documents
  • Submits and tracks applications for BCBAs, RBTs, and supervising clinicians
  • Ensures compliance with payer, state, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitors expiration dates and proactively renews credentials
  • Maintains accurate credentialing records and supports audits
  • Coordinates with billing, HR, and clinical leadership to prevent service delays
  • Receiving new hire and termination updates
  • Verifying licenses and certifications from onboarding files
  • Aligning start dates with payer approval
  • Alerting HR to expirations or issues
  • Sharing credential status for staffing and payroll

Requirements

  • Previous experience in provider credentialing, ideally within an ABA, healthcare, or behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance enrollment processes and common payer requirements.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; experience with credentialing software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
