Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Provide remote IT and network support, diagnosing and resolving issues via remote desktop for Windows and macOS environments
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services; manage virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
  • Configure and manage storage and backup solutions, including Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), DFS, and backup tools (Veeam, MSP360, LiveVault)
  • Monitor infrastructure and implement alerting/maintenance routines; participate in continuous improvement and, where applicable, technical pre-sales design

Job description

Our company, a global provider of network operations center, security operations center, professional services and consulting, project management, migrations, and Helpdesk services, is expanding its operations with a new branch in South Africa. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our growing team as Network and IT Support Specialists. This is a full-time, remote position with multiple vacancies available for two shifts: 8AM - 5PM and 5PM - 2AM.

Technical skills required for this role include:

  • Remote desktop support (Microsoft Windows; macOS experience is a plus)
  • Remote network troubleshooting and administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 deployment, administration, and management
  • Experience with virtual device administration and management (Microsoft Azure, AWS, and/or VMware)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, SharePoint, Exchange, and IIS
  • Knowledge of terminal services, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, Citrix XenApp, and VMware Horizon
  • Experience with storage technologies (Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) and Distributed File System (DFS))
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Standalone Hyper-V and Hyper-V clustering)
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (M365 Suite, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud)
  • Experience with backup technologies (Veeam, MSP360, and LiveVault, both cloud and on-premise)
  • Familiarity with various third-party applications and systems
  • Understanding of network technologies (VLAN, VPNs, firewalls, cybersecurity, and IP routing protocols)
  • Experience with wireless network technologies (UniFi and Meraki)
  • Knowledge of SIP/IP telephone systems
  • Scripting and automation using PowerShell
  • Excellent understanding and experience in infrastructure maintenance and alerting routines
  • Technical pre-sales experience (design stage, not necessarily customer facing)
  • Proactive trend identification and resolution

Essential and non-negotiable requirements for this position include:

  • Internet connection speed of at least 20mbps
  • Reliable backup internet connection (separate service provider or technology)
  • Availability of an inverter or generator for backup power during power outages
  • Good quality headset and webcam for clear communication
  • Quiet, designated office space for a distraction-free work environment
