Requirements:

  • Direct management of first- and third-party aviation claims from cradle to grave

  • Conduct on-site aircraft accident investigations and surveys of aircraft and property damage; communicate with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and attorneys
  • Prepare investigative and settlement reports; provide management with issue evaluations and recommended solutions; oversee panel counsel in litigation; review endorsements and advise underwriting on policy ratings

Location: Remote and located in CA, AZ, NM or WA

Job Type: Employee, Full Time, Exempt

Experience: 7+ years of claims experience required. Previous aviation insurance or risk management experience is preferred. Pilots license is a plus.

Education Level: 4-year college degree

Career Level: Professional

This position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. The candidate must have proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft office products. A successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced group environment, prioritize and handle fluctuating workloads. 

Approximately 35% of the Senior Technical Specialists time is dedicated to travel and can vary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct management of first- and third-party aviation claims from cradle to grave.
  • Inspect risk, assess damage and accurately complete all phases of adjusting procedures with conclusion of properly indemnifying our insured according to the coverages provided by the specific policy.
  • Review new losses, analyze coverage, make initial contacts, resolve coverage issues and review the policy and all endorsements that could impact coverage.
  • Conduct on-site aircraft accident investigations and surveys of aircraft and property damage.
  • Correspond with policy holders, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, etc. to gather information to support contested claims in court.
  • Oversight of panel attorney for claims in litigation.
  • Prepare reports on investigative findings and settlement of claims.
  • Prepare reports to management defining issues, evaluation and possible solutions.
  • Make recommendations to underwriting for correct policy rating.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the aviation field.
