Requirements:

  • Design, develop, and integrate a Beckhoff-based Process Control System including remote I/O, PLC, Industrial PC, EtherCAT networking, cabinet construction, sub-distribution board setup, power supply integration, and programming/visualization
  • Implement and configure operator stations (monitors, keyboard, mouse) and KVMA systems (keyboard, video, mouse, audio)
  • Plan execution, installation, and commissioning activities; manage procurement
  • Coordinate interfaces with other project lots and integrate black box control systems (flare, cryo storage) including alignment with client infrastructure

About the Project

We are seeking an experienced Process Control & Automation Engineer with strong Beckhoff expertise to join a high-profile hydrogen supply system project. This role involves the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of a Process Control System (PCS) for a hydrogen test bench.

The project will be executed in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Suitability procedure (no technical details yet)
  • Stage 2: Technical execution phase (detailed specifications provided)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate a Beckhoff-based Process Control System including:
    • Remote I/O
    • PLC
    • Industrial PC
    • Ethernet and EtherCAT networking
    • Cabinet construction
    • Sub-distribution board setup
    • Power supply integration
    • Programming and visualization
  • Implement and configure operator stations (monitors, keyboard, mouse)
  • Install and configure KVMA systems (Keyboard, Video, Mouse, Audio)
  • Conduct detailed, execution, and installation planning
  • Manage procurement of all required components
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Coordinate with other project lots, ensuring interface consistency and agreements
  • Integrate black box control systems (Flare, cryo storage)
  • Ensure alignment with client-provided infrastructure, including:
    • Foundations
    • Cable routes as per planning
    • Instrumentation and field cabling up to sub-distributors
    • As-built documentation from comparable PCS systems

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Proven experience in process control and automation projects using Beckhoff systems
  • Strong knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet, EtherCAT)
  • Experience with PLC programming and visualization systems
  • Understanding of cabinet construction and power distribution systems
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces with other contractors
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
  • Availability for the full 6-month project term
