Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Bookkeeping: 2.5-5 years of bookkeeping experience in legal services or a related industry, with a strong understanding of financial processes and regulations. 
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks for managing diverse financial tasks and generating detailed reports.
  • Knowledge of Legal Accounting: Familiarity with accounting practices specific to the legal industry, including trust account management and compliance requirements.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring all financial records are error-free and well-maintained. 
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, CPAs, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of financial data and requirements. 
  • Organized and Self-Driven: Highly organized with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage Financial Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income statements, expense reports, and reconciliation of accounts, ensuring compliance with legal and financial standards. 
  • Prepare Income/Loss Reports: Generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual income and loss reports to support operational decision-making and assist with financial planning.
  • Coordinate with CPA: Work closely with the CPA to provide necessary financial data, resolve queries, and ensure tax compliance and smooth year-end reporting. 
  • QuickBooks Management: Utilize QuickBooks to record, organize, and manage transactions, payroll, invoices, and other financial data efficiently and accurately.
  • Expense Tracking and Reconciliation: Oversee the tracking of expenses, reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts, and client trust accounts to ensure accuracy and accountability. 
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all financial documents are compliant with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
