Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in finance, accounting, private equity, or real estate sectors.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and sound risk awareness and judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software; strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and analytical/problem-solving abilities.

Investment Services Private Market Department (ISPVM)

The Investment Services Private Markets Department is responsible for investment services for the private market across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing deal structuring and closing, portfolio monitoring, valuation, portfolio finance, investment operations, tax, data management services, in the execution of private market investments in Real Estate, Private Equity, Private Credits and Infrastructure. 

 

Alternative Investment Operations

You play a vital role in delivering investment operation across multiple asset classes, including controllership and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support private markets investment.

 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Alternative Investment Operation as an Associate. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support finance operations throughout the investment’s life cycle.

 

What will you do as an Associate? 

  • Process daily transactions and funding requirements, ensuring timely updates of relevant data and entries in the accounting and management systems.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including updating investment fair values based on external financial information.
  • Prepare accounting reconciliations, review investment holding company accounts, and liaise with external auditors.
  • Coordinate corporate secretarial matters related to investment holding companies.
  • Support monitoring of operational processes, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
  • Contribute to the implementation of internal policies and guidelines, with emphasis on automation and process redesign to enhance efficiency.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CA or CPA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the finance, accounting, private equity, or real estate sectors.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to task execution.
  • Demonstrates sound risk awareness and the ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with peers and stakeholders.
  • Possesses robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with structured reasoning to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experienced in the use of accounting software systems.
