Position: Mainframe Z/VM Systems Technician
General Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and implement IBM Mainframe Z/VM and Z/VSE operating systems, as well as Independent Software Vendor (ISV) software packages.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues related to IBM Mainframe environments.
• Perform routine operating system and hardware maintenance, following IBM’s recommended update and patching schedules.
• Maintain and update disaster recovery plans, ensuring readiness and alignment with organizational requirements.
• Conduct capacity planning to support system performance, scalability, and long-term operational stability.

• Strong knowledge of Z/VM operating systems, including installation, configuration, and implementation of Z/VM, Z/Linux, and related ISV software.
• Working knowledge of Z/VSE operating systems and associated administrative tasks.
• Proficiency with IBM utilities such as IDCAMS, DITTO, and other mainframe support tools.
• Experience maintaining disaster recovery procedures and conducting capacity planning initiatives.
• Familiarity with z/OS or Z/Linux operating systems is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions.
• Strong coordination skills for collaborating with technical support teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation, reporting, and presentation tasks.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, and support materials.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
