Requirements:

Evaluate potential brand names for linguistic attributes including verbal similarities, ease of pronunciation, evocations, brand associations, and negative connotations
Apply cultural knowledge of symbols and colors to inform branding and logo evaluations when applicable
Participate as a remote freelance linguist survey contributor, completing surveys in formats required by clients and delivering results
Provide language and cultural insights consistent with local usage, and be prepared to share language experience in CV/resume as requested

TravelingBrand is a division of Choice Translating Inc., a language services company based in the USA. We provide linguistic survey reports for ongoing branding projects. This posting is for a remote contract opportunity for a linguist survey contributor.

We are expanding our pool of individual freelance linguists and asking if you would like to receive our surveys.

Here's more about our projects: We evaluate potential brand names for various linguistic attributes, which vary by survey type, such as verbal similarities, ease of pronunciation, evocations, brand associations, and negative connotations.

The ideal candidate would also be passionate about graphic design with knowledge of the meanings of symbols and colors in their culture. This awareness might impact the potential brand names and/or their accompanying logos, which may also be evaluated.

The surveys are in different formats based on clients' needs.

For success, we require the candidate:

Be native in the language and live in the mother tongue area
Be familiar with the country's culture, slang, and colloquial words
Be acquainted with well-known businesses and brands in the country
Preferably at least five years of experience using the language at a linguistic and/or higher education setting such as a university
