Position Title: Merchandise Allocator

The Merchandise Allocator is responsible for planning and managing the distribution of merchandise across multiple stores or locations, ensuring that stock levels align with sales demand and inventory needs. This position works closely with the buying and merchandising teams to ensure that products are available to customers when needed, contributing to sales goals and overall profitability.

Sales Analysis & Forecasting

  • Identify emerging sales trends and market shifts to proactively adjust inventory strategies.
  • Levering post-performance to refine future forecasting accuracy and planning.

Merchandise Allocation & Distribution

  • Prioritize high-demand stores and markets to optimize product availability and maximize sales.
  • Adjust allocations dynamically based on in-season sales performance and external factors (e.g., promotions, local events, weather).
  • Work closely with distribution centers to ensure smooth product delivery and merchandising processes.
  • Allocate stock based on sales forecasts, inventory turnover, store priorities, and seasonal trends.

Inventory Management & Stock Replenishment

  • Monitor stock levels across all locations to prevent overstocking and stockouts.
  • Identify replenishment opportunities based on stock performance and demand patterns.
  • Key item-Ladder planning to avoid stock outs and maximize sales.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with marketing teams to align inventory levels with promotional campaigns and product launches.
  • Act as a liaison between the buying team, distribution center, and other teams to ensure the efficient flow of goods.
  • Work with the buying team to align inventory decisions with product selection and availability.
  • Key item bulletin to improve store planning and speed to floor.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess inventory efficiency and sales impact.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to improve stock utilization and profitability.
  • Develop pre-season strategies to assist in planning, clustering and implementation.
