The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Direct Auto Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for the performance management, strategic oversight, and development of 10 or more Area Sales Managers within a designated territory. The AVP is responsible for overseeing the regional sales team. Depending on market and business needs, the AVP may also be accountable for maintaining and growing their own assigned territory. This dual-function role combines leadership, coaching, and direct sales execution, aimed at accelerating dealer engagement, market penetration, and loan volume through Lendmark Financial Services’ Direct Auto Lending program.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and strategic direction to a team of 10 or more Area Sales Managers.

  • Develop regional sales strategies to achieve company DAP plan and ensure consistency in execution across all territories.

  • Subject matter expert with the CRM and the ability to train new ASMs on effectively using the CRM.

  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching and development, and drive accountability through regular performance reviews and goal setting.

  • Cultivate, manage, and expand relationships with key direct auto dealers within assigned personal territory.

  • Actively seek new dealer partnerships to grow Lendmark’s network and support Area Sales Managers in doing the same across their regions.

  • Monitor, analyze and produce various reports to assist VP/SVP in identifying trends to improve results.

  • Lead team training initiatives, including sales techniques, compliance standards, and dealer servicing best practices.

  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitive insights; communicate relevant findings to senior leadership to shape organizational strategy.

  • Address and resolve dealer service issues in collaboration with internal departments.

  • Ensure adherence to risk management practices in all sales activities.

  • Conduct monthly training calls with new recruits.

  • Report regularly to senior leadership on team results, market insights, and operational needs.

  • Travel as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable education or related training.

  • 8+ years of direct auto lending or financial services sales.

  • Proven track record of successful team leadership and territory development.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management in a concise and professional manner.

  • Detailed-oriented and organized.

  • Strong analytical skills.

PREFERRED/DESIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in negotiation, closing, and relationship-building techniques.
  • Able to work independently with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capable of analyzing performance metrics and driving data-informed decisions.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and managing dealer and team escalations.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • The salary range for this position is competitive based on job duties as well as the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Experience of the selected candidate.

  • This position is eligible for Quarterly Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.
