We are actively seeking a Sr. Functional Analyst, SAP Financials. This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in Brazil.
Position Summary
This role is a Senior Functional Analyst, SAP Financials in our Global Product Development group supporting Latin America. The primary responsibility for this role is to deliver SAP system specific legislative and regulatory updates for our customers to ensure their SAP systems are kept compliant with the various legal requirements published by agencies and governments globally. Functional Analysts combine in-depth product expertise with the latest tax and regulatory changes to produce system impact specifications and test strategies for Development & QA. The position will follow each tax and regulatory change from discovery through successful translation into an application update, supporting multiple SAP modules. This role is vital in providing high quality deliverables to our clients and keeping their mission critical enterprise applications in compliance. The role requires expertise and skills to diagnose serious issues; work Scrum and Kanban teams to develop, test, package and deliver fixes for such issues in complex, integrated and highly configured environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Translate tax and regulatory requirements for the LATAM into system changes for clients’ ERP systems
Function as a SAP Subject Matter Expert for LATAM tax and regulatory updates
Organize and facilitate problem-solving discussions with clients, internal operational teams, to resolve issues on complex updates relating to Latin America tax and regulatory updates
Provide in-depth functional/technical knowledge and understanding of SAP system across multiple versions
Ensure total product compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations through the analysis of each tax and legislative change and production of Business Analysis & Functional specifications detailing the impact to a specific SAP module.
Provide in-depth knowledge of LATAM from a business perspective and as an end-to-end process.
Analyze, design and configuration of complex legislative requirements; including testing those updates to ensure product compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations of each tax and productions of stories for Scrum Team to refine and work.
Assist in design on complex and thorough test plans to ensure quality deliverables
Identifies potential points of contention for deliverables, creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget
Anticipates problems before they occur, defines problems and risk, identifies possible causes and works the team to identify solutions in implementing most appropriate solution
Pro-actively identifies risks and issues on development deliveries, working with the team to develop and maintain risk management on the deliverables
Assist with complex troubleshooting of Tax & Regulatory client cases
Provide expertise in how Latin America legislation is configured and processed in SAP
Design and development of business requirements, user stories (functional guidance), configuration requirements, test plans.
Work closely with the development team to ensure adherence to the functional design and that all business requirements are being satisfied
Formulate test strategies, review test plans, and perform system tests working with the QA team to ensure high quality deliverables
Assist the Development and QA Management Team with planning activities related to product specific Tax & Regulatory updates (i.e., bundle scheduling, project planning and tracking, etc.)
Organization and communication of such information, clearly disclosing the details needed for product specialists, Support Team/AMS, and subscribing clients including release documentation, installation instructions, and client manual configuration instructions to make necessary system changes.
Serve as a liaison between the Global Tax and Regulatory team and the Development & QA team as well as our total client base, ensuring accurate dissemination of information relating to Latin America legislative changes.
Communicate effectively across various teams, internal and external customers
Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the client experience.
Collaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience to different client situations

Location
Remote – Sao Paulo, Brazil
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Accounting or financial background, or equivalent experience.
Experience
Knowledge of Brazil localization tax and regulatory requirements, such as SPED fiscal, etc.
Knowledge on new Brazil tax reform topics, such new taxes as IBS, CBS and be up to date with upcoming demands
Experience (10+ years) LATAM SAP projects as primary duties
In-depth functional/technical knowledge and understanding of SAP system
Working knowledge of LATAM from a business perspective and as an end-to-end process
In depth understanding of configuration of SAP Modules
A track record of successful roles in several Enterprise Application projects (including full development and full QA lifecycle processes)
Ability to work closely with the Global Tax & Regulatory team to ensure the accurate transfer and comprehension of all critical information relating to each tax and regulatory change
Ability to work closely with development to ensure adherence to functional specifications and to work with QA team to develop high level test plans and test strategies
Skills
Proficient in developing Business Analysis and Functional specification documentations from regulatory and tax data.
Experience in the support of global SAP operations.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and product management skills
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Must be strong self-starter and with a committed work environment with stable internet service
Strong interpersonal, professional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with other groups within the delivery organization.
B-lingual Portuguese/English, conversational and written.
Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients with high satisfaction
Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations
The ability to work remotely from a home-based office in a virtual environment;
