  • Current college sophomore, junior, or senior studying marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, design, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong interest in social media and influencer/creator marketing with curiosity about what makes content perform.
  • Ability to create graphics and social assets using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; basic photo and video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, After Effects, or similar).
  • Comfort shooting content on a phone with social-first framing, lighting, and sound fundamentals; excellent attention to detail and time management.

Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Social Media Fellow (Intern) to support the planning, creation, and execution of social-first content that drives engagement and delivers results for our clients. You’ll help bring content to life across organic social, influencer/creator partnerships, and paid social support—working from ideation through publishing and reporting.


You’ll collaborate with internal teams across account, creative, web, and data, as well as creators, partners, and vendors when needed. You’ll also build strong communication habits—sharing updates, asking smart questions, and keeping projects organized as you learn.


This is a remote position for candidates based in the Austin area, with occasional on-site presence required for content creation and team collaboration.

What You’ll Do

  • Support social media strategy development by gathering inspiration, trends, competitive examples, and audience insights.

  • Create and design social assets (static graphics, carousels, stories, short-form video) aligned to brand guidelines.

  • Assist with content production: shoot content (phone-first), capture b-roll, and help with simple on-location or remote setups.

  • Edit photos and videos for social (cropping, color/light adjustments, captions, motion graphics, audio cleanup, exports by platform spec).

  • Ideate and pitch content concepts from hooks, themes, series ideas, and timely trend-driven posts.

  • Draft captions, hashtags, and basic community management responses in a brand-appropriate voice (with guidance).

  • Build and maintain content calendars, ensuring posts are accurate, on-brand, and delivered on time.

  • Support influencer/creator efforts by helping identify creators, organizing outreach lists, tracking deliverables, and confirming posting requirements.

  • QA content before it goes live: check spelling, links, tags, formatting, brand consistency, and platform specs.

  • Assist with publishing and scheduling across platforms and tools (IG, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, etc.).

  • Monitor performance and help compile reporting snapshots (what worked, what didn’t, what we should test next).

  • Maintain organized documentation: file naming, version control, asset libraries, creator contracts/deliverables tracking, and notes.

  • Communicate clearly with teammates: sharing progress, flagging blockers early, and taking feedback well.

  • Stay up to date on platform trends, new features, creator formats, and emerging best practices.


What You Bring

  • Current sophomore, junior or senior in college studying marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, design or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Strong interest in social media and influencer/creator marketing, with a curiosity for what makes content perform.

  • Ability to create graphics and social assets using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

  • Basic photo and video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, After Effects, or similar).

  • Comfort shooting content on a phone and understanding social-first framing, lighting, and sound fundamentals.

  • Excellent attention to detail: you catch typos, check specs, follow brand guidelines, and keep things tidy and accurate.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, deadlines, and feedback cycles across diverse client scopes.

  • A proactive, positive attitude: willing to learn, iterate quickly, and ask questions when you’re unsure.

  • Familiarity with major platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn) and an awareness of trends, formats, and creator styles.

  • Bonus: a portfolio or samples of social posts, graphics, reels/TikToks, or creator content (personal or for an organization).
