Roles & Responsibilities

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables)
  • Process-oriented with ability to think strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Analyze promotions and pricing; provide support with negotiations, item assortment, merchandising, promotions, terms, and other initiatives; assist with sales forecasting and pricing according to guidelines and competitive environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to create best-in-class planograms to fit various store layouts for assigned product categories to achieve sales goals

Job description

Overview:

 

The Associate Category Manager position will support the Center Store Category Management Team by analyzing data, working with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams including Pricebook, Loyalty, Advertising and Accounting. This role will also manage and be responsible for the financials of some categories.

 

Salary Range - $55k to 65k

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze market trends and industry practices to identify opportunities in sales, units, and margin for assigned categories
  • Collaborate daily with vendors and internal teams to create marketing promotions, manage promotional process, and coordinate product distributions
  • Develop analysis and presentations complete with actionable recommendations
  • Learn best practices around Category Management Techniques to build on and Fundamentals
  • Analyze promotions and pricing
  • Provide support with negotiations, item assortment, merchandising, promotions, terms and any other initiative
  • Assist with sales forecast and pricing product according to guidelines and competitive environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to create best in class planograms to fit various store layouts for assigned product categories to achieve sales goals
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
  • Experience in Retail Category Management, Merchandising, or Marketing
  • Process oriented with the ability to think both strategically and tactically with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be both creative and have strong analytical skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management and the ability to always meet deadlines.
  • Advance proficiency in the MS Office Suite
  • Strong Excel skills are a requirement (advance formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Flexible schedule
  • Some travel may be required.
