Roles & Responsibilities

  • Experience responding to RFPs and developing proposals that align with RFP requirements; government RFP experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and original content-writing skills; familiarity with marketing and communications practices.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to lead and manage projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and foster teamwork.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; PMP certification or formal project management experience is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Champion and lead the full proposal development process from intake to submission, often managing multiple projects and deadlines across departments.
  • Analyze RFP requirements to determine required content and assemble a cross-functional bid team; develop winning strategies.
  • Write high-quality, compliant proposals and create original copy that highlights strengths and value proposition; ensure alignment with client needs.
  • Manage proposal logistics and contribute to sales enablement and continuous improvement (newsletter content, FOIA requests, content development, document reviews, presentations, training, competitive research).

Responsibilities:

You will conduct the following responsibilities upholding Tarian’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.

  • Champion the proposal development process, owning and leading from start to finish, while often managing multiple projects, project teams, and deadlines at the same time
  • Lead the workflow process and coordinate with all company departments, business units, and executive leadership to (1) ensure project feasibility, (2) develop winning strategies, and (3) gather all response materials to ensure an accurate, up-to-date proposal that is customized to solve for the customer’s challenges and demonstrates the value of a partnership with our company, putting us in the best position to move forward in the bidding process
  • Analyze RFP requirements and decide what information is to be included in the response and the appropriate colleagues to include on the bid team
  • Write high-quality proposals using the input obtained from all sources in a concise, responsive, logical manner while ensuring the information complies with the request specifications
  • Develop original copy through compelling narratives that highlight our strengths, expertise, and value proposition
  • Create calendars and maintain accountability of all requested deliverables from internal stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage the logistics of the proposal submittal process (email, hard copy, portal, etc.)
  • Additional projects/initiatives include: creating internal newsletter content, conducting FOIA requests, developing content, managing document/library review cycles, proposal tracking and administration, building presentations, reviewing colleagues’ proposals, participating in training, and competitive research
  • Contribute to sales enablement strategic plan; assist with continuous improvement for the department, as well as any other activities to support the sales, marketing, and communications needs of the company
Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must have experience responding to RFPs and developing proposals that align with RFP requirements; experience with technical responses for government RFPs is preferred
  • Must possess strong verbal communication skills and have experience with original content writing
  • Must be familiar with marketing and communications practices and concepts
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to lead and manage projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and encourage effective teamwork
  • Must be able to assess situations effectively, and address challenges with creative solutions
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work assignments with minimal notice
  • Confidence in using Microsoft software applications and Adobe Acrobat is a must.

Preferred Attributes that Would Enhance Hiring Consideration

  • Previous experience with sales/marketing support and presentation development
  • Knowledge of systems or applications such as AI, Loopio, Salesforce, Seismic, and/or similar/others
  • Security service industry experience and/or experience in professional services marketing

  • Degree in major related to business and/or communications

Formal Education, Licenses, and/or Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Associate’s, bachelor’s, and/or master’s degree (preferred)
  • PMP certification (enhances hiring consideration)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced.  All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
