Responsibilities

• Owning, managing, and profitably trading in the European energy markets while implementing any relevant strategies
• Innovating new ideas for trading tools and strategies then working with the analysis and development teams to implement them
• Proactively explore and test emerging AI capabilities to enhance decision speed, synthesise market news, or backtest strategies more efficiently.
• Collaborate with the data science team to define requirements for custom AI agents that can act as "trading co-pilots."
• Utilising self-starter capability while also working efficiently within a team environment
• Ensuring all market regulations and requirements are upheld through good communication with the system operators

Basic Qualifications

• Excellent numerical and logical reasoning skills
• Ability to think clearly in critical situations
• Strong commercial awareness and a passion for energy markets
• Resilience, integrity, and a proactive, self-starter attitude
• Clear, concise communication skills and team-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualification & Background

• Track record of excellence, academic or professional, in quantitative, trading, or analytical roles
• Curiosity and initiative demonstrated through self-driven AI projects, with a focus on improving decision-making speed or synthesising complex information.
• Ability to leverage AI for rapid prototyping of trading ideas or risk scenarios (e.g., using LLMs to write Python scripts for backtesting).
• Experience with market-data platforms, trading tools, or scripting languages (Python, VBA, etc.)
