Nature & Scope:
We are currently seeking to hire Term Wildlife Monitors for the 2026 Spring/Summer project season to support crews working in outdoor remote environments by ensuring the safety of personnel and minimizing wildlife risks.
Situated across the Arctic in remote North Warning System (NWS) sites in Northern Canada this Fly-In Fly Out (FIFO) term position will start in the Spring- approximately June 1 through September 30 – and travel to various Long Range and Short Range radar sites.
Pre-deployment training will be provided prior to starting this role. The training is expected to be Confined Spaces Training, Working at Heights, with possibility of others to be added.
Located at our remote northern radar sites throughout the Arctic, this position will be responsible to assess wildlife risks, implement safety measures to prevent dangerous encounters, and help protect the NWS teams working outside in Canada’s unique Arctic environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in wilderness safety, wildlife deterrent handling, and Arctic operations.
This position is covered under the provision of the collective agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) Local 2228.
