Roles & Responsibilities

  • Life science degree (university/college) with 5+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs roles
  • Very good knowledge of the healthcare regulatory framework and experience working with healthcare stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Setting and executing BeOne's Corporate Affairs strategy for Spain and Portugal
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholder groups including government relations, patient organizations, healthcare organizations, trader associations, working groups and medical societies (with a focus on oncology and hematology)
  • Steering planning and execution of strategic initiatives and programs with these stakeholders, with close collaboration with the European and international Corporate Affairs team and representing the local perspective
  • Managing and planning the expense budget for all Corporate Affairs activities

General Description:

Under the direction of the General Manager Spain and Portugal, the incumbent is responsible to represent BeOne amongst a broad variety of stakeholders, frequently interacting with them and communicating BeOne’s vision and mission.

The Director, Corporate Affairs & Communications transfers the international/global corporate affairs strategy into the national market establishing BeOne as a credible and valued new player and partner in the Spanish and Portuguese markets. The owner of this role is responsible for achieving defined corporate affairs targets being supported by defined resources and investment budgets.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Setting and executing the Corporate Affairs strategy for BeOne in Spain and Portugal
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with a broad variety of stakeholder groups including government relations, patient organizations, healthcare organizations, trader associations, working groups and relevant medical societies (with a focus on oncology and hematology)
  • Steering the planning and execution of strategic initiatives and programs with the above stakeholders
  • Close collaboration with the European and international Corporate Affairs team at BeOne and representing the local perspective
  • Building a positive BeOne image/brand and awareness for our company and our products in the haemato-oncology market
  • Finding new ways and opportunities to improve our perception amongst relevant external stakeholders in Spain and Portugal
  • Manages and plans the expense budget for all Corporate Affairs activities
  • Identify agencies/vendors/technologies/tools that can benefit the execution of the Corporate Affairs Strategy
  • Develop and create stakeholder-centric communication tools/materials smartly using digital channels
  • Development of an aligned messaging helping the organization telling the BeOne vision and mission
  • Project management (contracts, invoicing, communication) for Corporate Affairs activities and projects together with admin support
  • Achievement of Corporate Affairs goals and defined performance parameters
  • Close cross-functional cooperation with colleagues in the other departments
  • Keeping management informed of any health care developments which are relevant to strategy implementation and development
  • Drive business decisions whereby patient care is at the center of the business conduct
  • Ensure compliance across all areas to maintain the highest standards of patients focused ethical conduct in line with our values
  • Consistently ensure operating in accordance with BeOne´s Standards of conduct and all applicable local laws and regulations

Qualifications & Capabilities

  • Scientific education and experiences in this or similar positions, life science degree (university, college) and professional experience
  • More than 5 years of qualified work experience in Corporate Affairs roles
  • Very good knowledge about the legal framework of the health care system and applicable regulations for working together with respective stakeholders
  • High level of social and communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in a small but fast growing, entrepreneurial commercial environment.
  • Profound knowledge in the haemato-oncology market
  • High social competence and capacity for teamwork
  • Highly motivated, solution oriented and a positive attitude
  • Success-, service-, and commercial-oriented thinking and working
  • Exceptional communication and thought leadership
  • Confident manner, good stakeholder acceptance due to communicative, health care system, medical and scientific expertise
  • Enjoying working in team and doing project work as well as networking
  • Making things happen & has the right level of implementation skills

Education Required:

  • University undergraduate degree in science or business as a minimum;
  • Higher qualifications (MD, PhD, MBA) advantageous

Computer Skills: proficient with software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite; experienced with electronic CRM systems

Other Qualifications: Fluency (verbal and written) in English and local language required; any other major European language of advantage

Travel: about 20%
