Job description

The National Director is responsible for developing the national strategy in support of Client Experience, Operations and Go to Market Strategy to support regional execution across the designated business segment or operating group.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The National Director is responsible for developing the national strategy in support of Client Experience, Operations and Go to Market Strategy to support regional execution across the designated business segment, specialty area, or operating group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In conjunction with the President and other senior leaders, develop the National Go to Market Strategy, with fully supporting national resources for regional execution

  • Partners with the Sales to foster a sales culture and to provide world class sales enablement to create an environment where advisors have the necessary support to sell new business. Leads new business support with Sales Leaders and Advisors, with a focus on largest, most complex clients

  • Establishes performance expectations for focus area with accountability measures

  • Establishes workflows for national and regional engagement of value-add resources in support of new and renewal business.

  • With Marketing, creates consistent set of client-facing documents and ensures appropriate usage within brand guidelines.

  • Establishes national expectations by role within CRMG, defining the expectation of performance, and creates visibility for regional reporting.

  • Develops national framework for regional execution of talent cultivation strategy

  • Maintains deep insurance company partner relationships at all levels

  • Works with leaders to drive regional State of the Client execution, including engaging on identified at-risk clients to ensure value proposition execution and retention implements framework for regional execution of Peace of Mind Timeline and Client StewardshipEffectively recruits, coaches, mentors, manages, and assists in the professional development of team members to develop bench strength.

  • Builds and sustains a high-performance culture through attracting, developing, and retaining a highly motivated and effective team. Inspires loyalty and commitment necessary to maintain motivated, productive, and competent colleagues.

  • Responsible for executing national compensation and T&E within budget.

  • Establishes and maintains national NPS strategy with regional execution

  • Represent Baldwin at national events and supports regions in efforts to recruit world class talent.

  • Create and foster collaboration among colleagues across different teams to continuously hone our edge

  • Responsible for creating and supporting a culture that is aligned with our Azimuth and supports our stakeholders.

  • Effectively recruits, coaches, mentors, manages and assists in the professional development of team members to develop bench strength.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or related field required. Graduate/Advanced Degree (Master’s JD, Ph.D, Etc.) preferred

  • Experience (years and type of experience): At least 12 years of experience in insurance placement, underwriting, or brokerage with a significant portion of it in a leadership role. 15+ years experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of various insurance products, industry regulations, market trends, and the competitive landscape

  • Certification(s): CPCU, ARM, CIC preferred

  • License(s): Maintains all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills

  • Superior communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • Proven track record in managing large teams spread across different locations

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships as a servant leader

  • Experience executing strategies in a de-centralized environment

  • Strong ability to lead through influence, problem solve, and negotiate.

  • Ability to cast a strategic vision for others to follow.

TECHNICAL, COMPUTER, AND SYSTEM-SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Ability to learn any other appropriate program or software system used by the firm as necessary

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent travel is required (75% or greater)
