Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Marketing Communications plays a vital role in shaping and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to boost brand visibility and increase customer engagement. This individual collaborates with the SVP and CMO to develop and implement comprehensive marketing communications strategies that support the company’s mission and enhance brand reputation. They carry out effective marketing communication plans that align with the business strategies and goals of the business units within Berkley Alliance Managers (BAM), taking primary responsibility for developing and executing these plans to ensure that the various BAM brands and messages are clearly expressed and consistently communicated across multiple marketing channels. Additionally, the Vice President leads and mentors the marketing communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability to meet both departmental and organizational goals.

 

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute marketing communication strategies and plans for each BAM business unit that support their business objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content across various platforms, including websites, social media, press releases and marketing materials, to ensure consistency and clarity in messaging.
  • Maintain and enhance the Berkley Alliance Managers brand, ensuring all communications reflect the company’s values and vision.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Claims, Underwriting, and Risk Management, to create integrated marketing campaigns that drive submissions and policyholder retention.
  • Manage BAM’s relationships with outside vendors and consultants.
  • Work with SVP/CMO to develop and manage the marketing communications budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize impact.
  • Manage and support the marketing communications team to nurture an environment of creativity, innovation and responsibility, ensuring the achievement of team and organizational objectives.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of marketing communications efforts and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain and advise on continuously evolving AI and digital media best practices. Improve working knowledge of tools, trends, and issues.
  • Manage project strategy, schedules, execution and budget for various marketing communication projects that involve cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or a related field of study, or the equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a marketing management role, overseeing staff and communications, preferably within an insurance or financial services company.
  • Solid marketing communications experience.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading both marketing communications teams and cross-functional groups, with demonstrated skills in collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Robust portfolio showcasing previous work and successful campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiar with Website CMS, Google Analytics, SEO (AEO/GEO).
  • Experience with email and social media platforms.
  • Genuine passion for technology and AI.
  • Extensive project management skills.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include: • Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $190,000 • Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus. • Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
