Overview:
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and repair physical and virtual server systems.
- Resolve technical issues affecting hardware, operating systems, or applications.
- Apply operating system or application patches, install or replace hardware, and implement configuration changes to improve or restore system performance.
- Perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Assist users in accessing and using business systems.
- Develop instructions and procedures for system maintenance, create scripts to automate monitoring and repair tasks, and conduct quality assurance checks.
- Collaborate with customers, subject matter experts, and architects to analyze, evaluate, and optimize systems. Contribute to process development and system improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or 8 years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Must have the ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
- Must be US Citizen
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with administration and management of servers and storage systems that provide enterprise-wide services in a Linux environment
- Advance Linux server experience
- Extensive Ansible/Scripting experience required
- Strong analytical, verbal and written skills
- Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships internal and external to the organization
