Job description

Job Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Calling all originals: At Levi Strauss & Co., you can be yourself — and be part of something bigger. We’re a company of people who like to forge our own path and leave the world better than we found it. Who believe that what makes us different makes us stronger. So add your voice. Make an impact. Find your fit — and your future.

As an Engineer II on the Commerce Platform team, you will play a key role in building the next generation of Levi Strauss & Co.’s digital commerce foundation. Our mission is to transition from monolithic systems to a domain-driven, service-oriented architecture that supports both our web and mobile experiences worldwide.

In this position, you will collaborate with senior engineers and architects to design and implement cloud-native microservices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks. You will gain exposure to large-scale distributed systems and modern engineering practices while making significant contributions to a platform that serves millions of customers globally.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is looking to enhance their skills, take ownership of services, and be part of a global team that is shaping the future of commerce technology.

About the Job

  • Design, develop, and maintain microservices and APIs that power Levi’s commerce platform.

  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation practices to support scalability and reliability.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver high-quality solutions in alignment with platform architecture.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure technical excellence.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot services in production, contributing to a “you build it, you run it” culture.

  • Partner with front-end and mobile teams to ensure smooth integration with platform services.

  • Continuously learn and apply new tools, frameworks, and approaches to improve engineering practices.

About You

  • Eager to learn and grow in cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.

  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where knowledge sharing and teamwork are essential.

  • Experience coding in at least one modern programming language and excited to expand technical expertise.

  • Motivated by solving problems and building reliable, scalable systems.

  • Interested in contributing to a global commerce platform while advancing your technical career.

  • 2 to 4 years of professional software engineering experience.

  • Proficient in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

  • Familiar with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates).

  • Understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

  • Experience using GitHub (or a similar platform) for version control and modern CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, with a keen interest in working on global distributed systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, alerting).

  • Exposure to front-end or mobile development patterns.

  • Familiarity with e-commerce, payments, or customer-facing platforms.
