We are looking for two Data Interns to join our growing teams- one dedicated to Zymewire (our Biotech/Pharma focused tool) and the other to Zapyrus (our MedTech focused tool). Both teams leverage advanced data science to turn industry noise into actionable sales signals.

What the role looks like:

In this role your main responsibility will be to find, review, and analyze content from the pharma/biotech, or MedTech company web sources, bringing them into the platform to be made actionable for our users through data and machine learning processes. You will also be involved in data projects aimed at expanding the depth of information available to our users, using methods which may include: spreadsheet manipulation, prompt engineering for large language models, and basic coding. Please note that this role is largely focused on data quality and sourcing; this is not a data engineering role requiring or involving significant coding experience. You will also work collaboratively with the rest of the Zymewire or Zapyrus data team each day on a number of tasks and projects to ensure that users are receiving the most up-to-date and comprehensive industry activity for their sales and marketing efforts.

As we're funding this position with the assistance of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and the Student Work Placement Program, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Registered full-time or part-time under a co‑operative education program in a  publicly funded Ontario post-secondary institution.
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada, including specific province legislation and regulations

  • You have a background in STEM (biology, chemistry, or physics)
  • You enjoy hunting for information on the web
  • You have an interest in medical technologies or healthcare
  • You have experience and interest in prompt engineering for LLMs (large language models) and basic coding experience
  • You’re highly organized
  • You're very comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets
  • You consider yourself to be tech-savvy, and you’re excited by the idea of working for a software company.

Salary: $3500/month

    Location: Remote (Canada-based, Eastern Time Zone only) or hybrid
