Job Overview

Georgetown University is seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Project Manager to lead and execute IT projects that drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence across our institution. As an IT Project Manager Level 1, you will play a crucial role in defining, planning, and overseeing the implementation of IT initiatives that align with our organization’s long-term goals and objectives. Your ability to collaborate, communicate, and manage projects will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

 

As an IT Project Manager Level 1, you will work collaboratively with departments or university divisions to design, plan, and execute IT projects for both the internal IT department and initiatives that provide value to multiple stakeholders across our campuses. In this pivotal role, you'll drive the successful execution of projects, ensuring they are completed with the highest standards from inception to completion.

This role requires a results-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams towards achieving program goals.

 

Work Mode Designation

This Position reports to the Portfolio and Project Manager under the Office of the CIO in University Information This position has been designated as Hybrid.  Up to 50% of work may be expected to occur in-person for events, meetings, and conferences. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.  Such review may necessitate a change to a position’s mode of work designation. Requirements and Qualifications

●        Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

●        2+ years of experience in IT project management or coordination, preferably in higher education.

●        Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, JIRA).

●        Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.

●        Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.

●        Certifications in project management such as PMP, SAFE, CSM, or willingness/desire to become certified.

●        Knowledge of project management methodologies and applying them in a business and/or academic setting

●        2+ years working in a project manager role is preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$66,783.00 - $126,720.23

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
