Role Summary

The QA Automation Engineer (Cypress) is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure software quality and reliability. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the Software Engineering team located in Bellevue, WA, and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and develop automated test scripts using Cypress, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Execute automated test cases and analyze results to ensure software quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement testing requirements.
  • Provide recommendations on QA frameworks and tools based on industry’s best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins with Allure reporting.
  • Manage source code using BitBucket/Git.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document and report test results, defects, and performance metrics.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Long-standing experience as a QA Automation Engineer (typically 5+ years not including academic).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills
  • Extensive experience in browser automation with Cypress
  • Working knowledge of testing frameworks such as Cypress, SerenityBDD, or Cucumber
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins with Allure reporting

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with REST API automation / Web Services Automation
  • Knowledge of Source Code Management tools like BitBucket / Git
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science
