Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Migration Engineer to plan and execute the migration of applications and infrastructure from legacy environments to Microsoft Azure. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, working closely with architects, technical leads, and operations teams to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient migrations.

Experience with hybrid environments and legacy technologies is essential. Exposure to Azure Stack is considered a strong advantage.

This is a fully remote role. Candidate selected should be based anywhere in Romania.

Key Responsibilities

Execute application and infrastructure migrations to Microsoft Azure
Support assessment and discovery of existing legacy systems
Implement migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor)
Configure and deploy Azure services for migrated workloads
Perform data migrations and validate integrity and performance
Troubleshoot migration-related issues during and after cutover
Support testing, stabilization, and post-migration optimization
Document migration procedures, configurations, and lessons learned
Collaborate with security, networking, and operations teams

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Migration Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer
Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure
Experience working with legacy technologies (on-prem systems, older application stacks)
Good understanding of: Azure compute, storage, and networking; Identity and access management; Backup, recovery, and monitoring.
Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments
Ability to work in hybrid cloud setups

Certifications (Preferred)

Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate
Other relevant cloud certifications are a plus

Nice to Have

Experience with Azure Stack
Familiarity with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
Experience with migration tools and frameworks
Exposure to DevOps or CI/CD pipelines
