Position Summary:
As a Business Development Representatative, you’ll be the first connection between AGDATA and our future clients. This role is perfect for someone who loves starting conversations, identifying opportunities, and helping businesses unlock value through data and insights. You’ll play a key role in building pipeline, nurturing relationships, and setting the stage for long-term success.
This isn’t just lead gen—it’s about being a strategic partner in the early stages of the customer journey.
Discover & Develop Opportunities
- Identify new business opportunities through research, industry networking, and outreach.
- Use email, phone, and LinkedIn to engage with key decision-makers and spark conversations.
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads for AGDATA’s products and services.
Build Trusted Relationships
- Understand customer challenges, goals, and priorities.
- Conduct discovery calls to qualify needs and position AGDATA as a high-value partner.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to co-develop outreach strategies and proposals.
Own the Early Sales Process
- Manage outreach and follow-up cadence from first touch to handoff.
- Log all activity in Salesforce—every call, note, and next step documented within 24 hours.
- Use Salesforce alerts and reminders to stay proactive, not reactive.
Stay Sharp on Industry Trends
- Monitor ag industry news, competitive moves, and emerging needs.
- Share insights with internal teams to help shape smarter marketing and product strategies.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or related field
- Previous experience in sales or business development (AgTech or SaaS a plus)
- Strong communicator who knows how to build rapport and earn trust quickly
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and persistent
- Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
- Genuine interest or background in agriculture is a major advantage
