Pay Rate: 75–80/hr (150-160k conversion)

Job Description:

This role focuses on building backend interoperability and data integration systems that support the secure, standards-based exchange of healthcare information. You will play a critical role in developing and optimizing pipelines that automate how clinical and patient records are retrieved, transformed, and transferred across electronic health systems. The ideal candidate has strong C#/.NET experience, hands-on integration and ETL expertise, and deep familiarity with HL7/FHIR standards and AWS-based data pipelines in production environments.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience using C# and .NET (.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC)
• Strong experience designing and implementing healthcare interoperability solutions using HL7 and FHIR standards
• Hands-on experience building ETL and data integration pipelines using tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, MuleSoft, Apache Camel, or StreamSets
• Experience designing and supporting data ingestion, transformation, and routing workflows
• Experience building and supporting backend APIs and headless, non-UI data workflows
• Proficiency with AWS services, including:
  • Glue for building and managing ETL pipelines
  • Lambda for event-driven and serverless backend functions
  • S3 for secure object storage
  • RDS for relational data storage and management
  • API Gateway, EventBridge, and SNS/SQS for integration, messaging, and event-driven workflows
• Experience designing scalable backend services and microservices to support data exchange
• Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, and secure healthcare data handling requirements

Bonus/Soft Skills:

• Experience working with Apache NiFi v1.27+
• Familiarity with AWS HealthLake or other FHIR-native healthcare data platforms
• Prior experience supporting ROI (Release of Information), records release, or patient data exchange solutions
• Background in microservices, containerized environments, or Kubernetes-based deployments
• AWS certifications or other relevant cloud credentials
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
