Roles & Responsibilities

  • 10+ years of software development/test experience in enterprise server/storage or networking products
  • Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot/Quarkus, JPA/Hibernate, JDBC; experience with React, REST, Graal native, microservices, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS)
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm), Git, deployment strategies, observability, and security analytics
  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field; MS preferred; web development experience; proficient in at least one other programming language

Requirements:

  • Provide operational and development support for manufacturing test software deployed at production facilities; maintain existing code and develop new features
  • Establish and maintain a development framework that enables behavioral and high-level software design specifications
  • Establish and maintain best practices for high-quality software development and sustaining activities
  • Contribute to and improve software build methodologies, procedures, and the development environment

The Principal Test Development Engineer provides leadership simultaneously across several technology platforms of specialization within the Engineering Group.  They are recognized thought leaders that focus on projects requiring advanced levels of multidisciplinary technical expertise and problem solving.  The Principal Engineer is responsible for large scale activities including the discovery and evaluation of new technologies, development of related processes and procedures, equipment development, and the creation of educational materials that establish the baseline knowledge for technology.  They are strategic thinkers combining business acumen with technical breadth and providing mentoring to Test Development staff for a variety of disciplines and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Software development, deployment and maintenance responsibilities:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.  MS preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in software development/test capacity with enterprise server, storage or networking products.

The pay range for this role is $100,100 - $180,200. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: April 24, 2026.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self.
