  • Minimum of three years of multifamily/real estate experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, accounting, finance, or other related business discipline (preferred)
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Intermediate experience with Yardi or similar property management software

Requirements:

  • Evaluate policies, procedures, workflows, and systems at the site level to identify improvements and ensure best practices
  • Partner with others to review and/or create user guides, documentation, forms, and assist with development and implementing trainings on policies and procedures
  • Maintain and update the COMPASS site, including updating outdated materials, reorganizing content, and ensuring consistency across departments
  • Serve as a technical information resource on policies and procedures for internal customers; coordinate with Internal Auditors, Learning and Development, Transitions, and other departments to address deficiencies in documentation, training, and/or systems; address operational submissions via HelpDesk and monitor site-level understanding and compliance

Description

The Business Process Specialist assists with operational systems and policy and procedure implementations. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide a bridge between Operations and other internal departments by communicating and collaborating on projects that support site operations. Gathering data from internal and external sources and making recommendations based on the data is on another primary responsibility of this role.  


Essential Duties/Responsibilities


  • Evaluate policies, procedures, workflows, and systems at the site level to identity improvements, ensuring best practices are utilized.
  • Partner with others to review and/or create user guides, documentation, forms, and to assist with development and implementing trainings on new and existing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team reenvisioning the COMPASS site. This will include updating outdated material, reorganizing and simplifying materials currently Included.  
  • Partner with other departments as they review and change their sections in COMPASS to ensure consistency with other modifications.  
  • Ensure all changes to COMPASS are updated regularly.  
  • Work closely with Learning & Development to ensure changes are reflected in all company materials and have been included in trainings.    
  • Address operational submissions through internal HelpDesk ticketing system to resolve issues and requests and to monitor site-level understanding and compliance to programs and standards. This may include addressing questions or reviews of team member housing agreements, requests from a newly transitioned site, and requests for a file review tied to a policy or third-party program.  
  • Review operational reporting for potential system issues and procedural concerns related to site team operations either in collaboration with another department or using internal systems (such as HelpDesk ticketing) determine possible solutions. 
  • Serve as a technical information resource relating to policies and procedures for internal customers. Including support on team member housing agreements, file accuracy, and state resident lease development/maintenance.   
  • Coordinate with Internal Auditors, Learning and Development, Transitions and other departments to develop strategies to address deficiencies in documentation, training, and/or systems
  • Identify and report operational issues that arise, identifying areas of concern or potential training opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking, data analysis, and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate skill level with Yardi or similar property management software
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Outlook/Exchange
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and internal/external customers
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrates professionalism and pride of ownership in assigned responsibilities
  • Strong collaborative attitude and ability to navigate sensitive situations and resolve conflict effectively


Experience:

  • Minimum three years of multifamily/real estate experience 
  • Basic accounting knowledge 


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, accounting, finance, or other related business discipline preferred
