  • Basic computer skills, math and problem-solving; able to read and follow measurements and calculate using weight fractions of ounces and measure accurately by gallons, pints, and ounces.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment mechanical aptitude test and interview process, and successfully complete background check, physical and drug screening.
  • Ability to use PPE (including respiratory protection) and lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements:

  • Train in all facets of paint mix room operation (mixing, sampling, testing) to learn essential duties.
  • Safely operate production equipment to ensure the highest quality and correct quantity in accordance with the production schedule, standard operating procedures, and supervisory instructions.
  • Blend and mix toners to designated formulas (by hand and using a mix machine) and control paint viscosities and tank levels.
  • Record and document all pertinent information for mixes; maintain a clean work area; follow safety policies and procedures; and assist with waste control and overtime as needed.

Shift/Schedule: 1’st Shift (5:30am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Thursday)

Education: High School Diploma Required

Background: Candidates must be able to pass a Background Check & Drug Test (No Exceptions)

Experience: We are seeking candidates with at least 2 years’ experience working in a Manufacturing, Plant, Industrial environment.

Interviews: If you are selected for an Interview, all Interviews will be in-person and will be scheduled for 1:00pm.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math and problem-solving; mechanical, numerical, and verbal aptitude to learn our jobs quickly
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment mechanical aptitude test and interview process
  • Successful completion of background check, physical and drug screening is required
  • Must be able to read and follow, weight fractions of ounces, and measure accurately by gallons, pints, and ounces (good math skills)
  • Must be able to use various forms of PPE including respiratory protection
  • Ability to use hand tools and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting, walking, standing, pushing, and pulling

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate in an Operator position will be trained in all facets paint mix room operation (Mixing, sampling, testing paint) to learn these essential duties of the position
  • The incumbent must operate production equipment safely to ensure the highest quality and correct quantity in accordance with the production schedule, standard operating procedures, and supervisory instructions
  • Operators will understand the mechanics of how to operate various types of equipment with confidence
  • Solve routine problems associated with job responsibilities
  • Performs all duties in a safe working manner, following all of Axalta's safety policies and procedures
  • Blend and mix toners to designated formula (by hand and using a mix machine)
  • Control paint viscosities and tank levels
  • Record and document all pertinent information when completing mixes
  • Make sure work area is cleaned up
  • Operate mix machine and paint delivery systems
  • Directly responsible for housekeeping and control of waste generation
  • Ability to work schedule with assigned overtime.
