Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an entry-level Turkish Language Specialist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for linguists who are passionate about launching their careers in the field of linguistics and artificial intelligence. This role offers hands-on experience in working with language technologies and contributing to the development of AI systems for language applications in digital transformation and internet advertising. We have both part-time and full-time positions available.

As a Junior Turkish Language Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining language-based AI systems, particularly those related to the Turkish language. You will collaborate closely with linguists, senior linguists, data scientists, and software engineers to ensure the effective understanding and generation of human language by AI systems.

Additionally, you will utilize a unique web-based tool to evaluate search engine advertisements based on project guidelines, providing professional development opportunities and working on exciting projects that will empower you to continue learning and growing within a multicultural and international team, handling a diverse range of documents and content types.

Requirements

  • Data Annotation and Curation: Annotate and curate linguistic data in Turkish to create training corpora for AI models. Assist in the development and maintenance of linguistic resources and datasets.

  • Linguistic Analysis: Conduct linguistic analysis of Turkish text and speech data to identify patterns and characteristics. Collaborate in the design and implementation of language models for Turkish.

  • NLP Algorithm Support: Assist in the development and fine-tuning of NLP algorithms specific to Turkish, including sentiment analysis, text classification, and named entity recognition.

  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assessments to identify and report linguistic issues in AI systems. Help with error analysis and the implementation of improvements to enhance model performance.

  • Documentation: Document linguistic resources, model architectures, and data annotation guidelines. Maintain comprehensive records of linguistic tasks and findings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in linguistics, computational linguistics, or a related field, or currently studying in these fields.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Turkish.

  • Strong cultural understanding of Turkey.

  • Basic understanding of linguistic principles, grammar, and syntax.

  • Familiarity with NLP tools and libraries is a plus.

  • Some experience with programming languages such as Python would be ideal.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent online research skills.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Eager to learn and adapt to a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.

  • Experience working as a linguist, translator, interpreter, or transcriptionist would be advantageous.
