  • Version Control Documentation: Establish and enforce version control protocols and configuration status accounting practices to maintain consistency across engineering documentation.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Configuration Management Manager with at least 5 years of experience in industrial or commercial environments, preferably within or related sectors. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining robust configuration change control systems and ensuring the integrity of engineering documentation and change control processes throughout the product lifecycle.  Additionally, this role will represent engineering in the IEM systems group to help define and create auditable processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Configuration Management Planning

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive configuration management (CM) plans, processes, and procedures aligned with industry standards.

Change Control Oversight

Manage engineering change requests (ECRs), change notices (CNs), and product baselines to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with internal and external requirements.

Process Evaluation & Improvement

Assess current Engineering Tools (ET) and Change Notice (CN) processes within IEM, identify gaps, and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Version Control & Documentation

Establish and enforce version control protocols and configuration status accounting practices to maintain consistency across engineering documentation.

Lifecycle Traceability

Ensure end-to-end traceability of requirements, designs, and changes across the product lifecycle, supporting quality and compliance objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing and program management teams to maintain configuration integrity and support project goals.

Reporting & Metrics

Maintain configuration management audit account and performance metrics to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.

Audit & Compliance Support

Provide support during internal and external audits, reviews, and compliance assessments related to configuration and change control.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in configuration management within commercial or similar industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of CM standards such as ISO 10007 and/or EIA-649.
  • Proficiency in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), PDM (Product Data Management), and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with engineering change management processes and document control systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to support and lead configuration-related audits and compliance reviews.

 

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $130,000    per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
