With a strong data-driven approach, they are investing heavily in their Business Intelligence function to improve operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. This remote role offers South African candidates the opportunity to work directly with a UK-based BI team and contribute to enterprise-level insights.
The Role: Power BI Developer
As Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining business-critical reports and dashboards across departments, including Sales, Operations, Distribution, Trading, and Finance. You will transform raw data into clear, reliable, and accessible insights for stakeholders at all levels, playing a key role in performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 2 years' experience building Power BI reports in a business environment
- Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, visuals, and reports
- Translate business requirements into meaningful visual insights aligned to KPIs
- Build and manage datasets using best-practice data modelling (star schema)
- Write and optimise DAX measures and calculations
- Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with data owners
- Provide clear insights, explanations, and variance analysis across business functions
- Monitor report refreshes and performance, ensuring data security and access control
- Support business users with training, guides, and reporting enhancements
- Standardise reporting templates and automate recurring reports where possible
About You
- 2+ years of Power BI development experience in a commercial environment
- Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced Power BI and DAX skills, with strong data modelling knowledge
- Excellent spoken and written English – articulate, confident communicator
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to explain data to non-technical users
- Proactive and self-motivated, comfortable working independently in a remote setup
- FMCG, foodservice, logistics, or distribution sector experience is a strong advantage
- Exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate, APIs, or Microsoft Fabric is desirable
