Product Manager, Life Science | Luma

What do we need

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Product Manager / Product Owner to support Dotmatics Luma.  You will have the opportunity to work on a product that unifies science data and data science in a highly functional and innovative data-led multi-tenant platform that brings the best the market has to offer in data modelling, ingestion, translation, discovery, insight, and action.  Reporting to the Principal Product Manager you will work in an agile software development environment with a team of Product Managers, and the wider Dotmatics organization.  As the Product Manager you will play a leading role in defining and executing on the Dotmatics Luma strategy as it applies to the assigned product area in a manner that reflects the goals of supporting complete research workflows and helps our customers reduce time-to-market and costs and increase innovation and ROI of their scientific R&D processes via a toolset that serves as the foundation for their lab of the future. 

In this role you will get to

• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders inside and outside the organization to collect and understand strategic and tactical prioritized objectives and requirements including but not limited to non-functional requirements around scalability, performance, reliability, upgradability, resiliency, maintainability; and functional requirements around low-code modelling, data dashboards, insights, user experience, and all related tooling.
• Effectively perform technology research tasks, competitive analysis, partnership discussions, customer discussions, design objectives, and other product and engineering activities
• Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other agile events – acting as a trusted partner to engineering
• Communicate status and key metrics internally to key team members
• Assist in go-to-market activities, such as contributing to marketing collateral, creating demonstration videos, etc.
• Translate initiatives into Stories within Jira that maintain fidelity to the strategy in a way that will bring success to our users
• Own project scope, priorities, and track to milestones, timelines and deliverables
• Use data insights such as product analytics to uncover opportunities
• Create wireframes and clickable prototypes to communicate ideas
• Write PRDs, user stories and flows to describe requirements
• Be unrelenting and unremitting in maintaining a quality product. Bugs insult you to the core.
• Perform and assist with UAT

We are looking for people who have 8+ years experience in software (SaaS) product management. Ideally you will have a Degree or higher education in Data Science, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or related Life Science or Technical fields and experience working with scientific instrument data and applications of AI in life sciences.

• Senior internal stakeholder and client communication skills

You may also have:

• Experience building Agent and/or AI applications in professional settings
• Understanding of AI/ML related security concerns in regulated settings and hardened network environments
• Experience working with or building ELNs, LIMS, Scientific Instrument Data workflows
• An understanding of scientific data platforms, data management needs, data modelling, model-driven multi-tenant platform architectures, BI & reporting tools 
• Building wireframes (Figma of similar)
• Working knowledge of Databricks 
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining on-prem installable products
• Experience working with variety of data formats and transfer protocols including files, non-structured data, OPC-UA streams, IoT devices, etc.
