  • Experience with Regional Entity, NERC, or related regulatory monitoring bodies and proficiency in NERC Reliability Standards
  • Strong project management, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel within Canada and the U.S., and to work onsite as required

Requirements:

  • Lead client engagements in cybersecurity and NERC compliance by establishing project workstreams, coordinating with clients and Guidehouse experts, delivering results, and supporting day-to-day operations and sales efforts
  • Establish and maintain industry relationships across Canada to create business development opportunities and communicate Guidehouse solutions to clients and executives
  • Conduct NERC audits, assess internal controls, analyze compliance programs, and implement process improvements to enhance NERC reliability and cybersecurity posture
  • Mentor and coach consultants, ensure high-quality deliverables, perform fact-finding and analysis for risk assessment, and manage multiple time-sensitive priorities; travel as needed

What You Will Do:

Associate Director, Cybersecurity and NERC Compliance will have responsibility for client management, solution implementation and delivering project results. Connect Guidehouse consulting solutions to solve client problems. You will facilitate business development and support the sales process. You are responsible for establishing and leading project workstreams which includes interacting with the client and Guidehouse experts to ensure engagement success. This involves supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and internal team leaders. The Associate Director, Cybersecurity and NERC Compliance role is expected to leverage industry connections to foster client and firm success across Canada: establish business development opportunities, communicate well-organized, effective Guidehouse solutions and presentations to client and internal executives. You may lead, coach and mentor consultants and ensure quality deliverables. This is a role designed to maximize customer success through integrating sales, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting meeting sales and growth targets within the Risk, Compliance, Security Team.

  • Establishing and facilitating business development meetings and foster industry relationships for short, medium, and long-term success throughout Canada.

  • Supporting workstreams that enable the assessment, development, and enhancement of business strategies, operating plans, business processes and organizational structures with an emphasis on our Canadian market.

  • supporting infrastructure for clients. and Canada with emphasis on our Canadian market

  • Conducting NERC audits, improving NERC Compliance and Cybersecurity processes, analyzing internal controls, and implementing process improvements.

  • Applying technical competencies from the ground up with clients and potential clients.

  • Analyzing NERC internal compliance programs, and related strategy implementation and associated compliance efforts.

  • Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through meetings, reports, and presentations.

  • Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis to further support risk assessment and mitigation plans.

  • Ensuring quality of deliverables to meet client expectations.



What You Will Need:

  • Due to nature of client engagements must be a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree AND Nine (9) plus years post-graduation working experience OR Master's degree AND Seven (7) years post graduation working experience, within the electric utility industry, including as a regulator. Work experience emphasis on NERC Reliability Standards (Canada and/or USA) supporting regulatory frameworks and processes around NERC and provincial and regional entities.

  • Work experience should include Regional Entity, NERC, or related regulatory monitoring entity (e.g., Independent System Operator, Market Surveillance, Utility Commission) and/or experience working in a internal monitoring compliance, engineering or operations role.

  • Demonstrated working proficiency in the with NERC Reliability Standards.

  • Strong industry relationships across Canada.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong communications skills, including both written and verbal.

  • Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Highly developed organizational and management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness.

  • Ability to travel within Canada and/or the US.

  • Ability to work onsite in a Guidehouse Office or close proximity to a Client Office location.

  • Currently reside in Canada.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Preference will be given to candidates within reasonable driving distance of listed Guidehouse Office or Client Office Location.

  • MBA degree or similar advanced degree in business, communications, and/or economics discipline.

  • 5+ years of additional working experience in a Reliability Compliance field for an electric utility, a Region, ISO, PUC, NERC, FERC, or similarly structured or related regulatory body

  • Specific working experience related to any of the following:

  • Bulk Electric System (BES) and power systems

  • Electrical Reliability

  • NERC/FERC Enforcement or Auditing

  • Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)

  • Operations and Planning (O&P)
