ROLE OBJECTIVE & DELIVERABLES:

This role will operate as the sole, and senior, Technology Finance expert to work alongside a team of technical resources and lead consultant to help in the shaping of a future state technology foundation as a phased programmer utilizing a set of pathways instigated across 3 horizons (Quick wins, medium term, long term); each initiative within the horizons framework will need to be understand from a baseline/current cost, future run cost and cost to achieve via a set fully-costed business cases developed within an 8-10 week period.

Key deliverables will be:

1. Current technology costs are fully detailed and documented in a format that provides a baseline from which future costs can be compared.

2. Cost forecasted candidate projects forming part of the overarching transformation programmed, prioritized into the 3 horizons of quick wins, medium term, and long term.

3. Overarching business case deliverables detailing cost to achieve, run rate, return on investment and TCO potentially with options for Capex versus OpenX bias and lease versus own versus full managed service, alongside usual technology options.

4. Potential to include financial comparisons across sourcing and partner options.

Describe the scope of the above deliverables including technologies, platforms and services:

All technologies including hosting location (cloud/on-prem/Co-lo), compute, storage, network, backup/restore, tooling, service management, vendors/sourcing, workplace services, software licensing and support/maintenance costs, project costs.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• The candidate must have a strong Technology Finance background spanning at least 10 years of technology and finance including fully costing transformation programmes and initiatives.
•  Understand treatments such as handling of Capex and Opex, lease versus buy, vendor contract options and charging mechanisms, depreciation, tax and regional impacts.
• Able to advise on financial models for recharging, cost optimization, and simplification of technology finance.
•  Perform comprehensive Azure FinOps assessments identifying cost drivers, analyses spending patterns, and recommend strategies for cost optimization across  Azure Cloud
• Collaborate with clients to assess and optimize their cloud landscape, focusing on core FinOps principles like cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting and more.
  Help customers evaluate FinOps maturity and maintain FinOps Foundation Framework best practices.
• Have a strong understanding of technology products, services, terms and the component make of costs to run various technologies including extensive experience of on-prem versus cloud costs.
• Able to both provide detail in Excel building and utilising financial modelling and formulae to provide the customer with a reusable artefact for modelling the business case post-engagement.
• Able to provide reporting at both detailed and exec summary level for various business case options in PowerPoint and other graphical representations as required.
