Power BI Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with 4-6 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and DAX queries, with a proven ability to work with semantic models and layers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support business decision-making.
• Write and optimize DAX queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
• Work with large datasets, both structured and unstructured, to create meaningful insights.
• Design and implement semantic models/layers to ensure accurate data representation and integration within Power BI.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data accuracy and quality.
• Monitor and optimize Power BI report performance using tools like Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio, and other relevant tools.
• Implement security features such as Row-Level Security (RLS) and other access controls within Power BI.
• Participate in code reviews, and provide recommendations for best practices in Power BI development.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Power BI and related technologies.

Mandatory Skills:

• Power BI: Extensive experience in developing and managing Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• SQL: Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• DAX Queries: Strong experience in writing and troubleshooting DAX queries to create calculated columns, measures, and complex reports.
• Semantic Models/Layers: Expertise in designing and implementing semantic models and layers within Power BI for efficient data representation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Power BI Service, Power Query, and other related tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience in migrating reports from other BI tools to Power BI.
