  • Travel for in-person sessions, coordinate with client agencies to tailor training and ensure outcomes; assess learner performance and provide feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in law enforcement and higher education training; ensure compliance with university policies and background checks.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Justice and Safety Institute is currently seeking qualified Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Trainers to instruct in our programs. Courses within this program focus on leadership and management models, styles, and approaches conducted on site for the client agency, online or in an asynchronous platform.  

Subjects include, but are not limited to, Budgeting, Report Writing, Grant Writing, First Line Supervision, Field Training Officer, Police Executive Development, Advanced Executive Development, Media, Leadership and Command, Police Conduct, Performance Appraisal, and Risk Management.

Requirements for this position include:

1)Travel for in-person instruction.

2) Command Experience in Law enforcement (Minimum of 3 years)

3) Law Enforcement supervisory experience (Minimum of 5 years)

4) Correctional Facility supervisory experience

5) operation of a motor vehicle - a valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
