About the Project

Our client is a global leader in cybersecurity training and professional development, founded by industry pioneers and widely recognized for its hands-on, real-world learning approach. Their platforms and products support elite security practitioners worldwide and play a critical role in closing the global information security talent gap.

The client operates as a fully remote, globally distributed organization with team members across more than 45 countries. Their engineering environment is highly agile, fast-paced, and impact-driven, requiring strong technical leadership, architectural rigor, and the ability to deliver at scale while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a core product development team in a mission-critical role. This position goes beyond individual contribution and focuses on technical leadership, architectural ownership, and organizational impact.

The ideal candidate is a highly productive, senior-level engineer with full-stack capabilities who can drive complex initiatives end-to-end, prevent technical debt through strong design decisions, and act as a force multiplier for the broader engineering organization. This role requires comfort operating in highly dynamic environments and the ability to switch context quickly across systems, layers, and technologies.

Responsibilities

Exceptional Technical Delivery

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy complex, scalable, and high-performance software solutions across the full stack

  • Own critical system components and provide architectural guidance to ensure long-term stability, scalability, and maintainability

  • Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code

  • Lead and participate in code reviews that significantly improve code quality and team efficiency

Extreme Agility and Impact

  • Seamlessly switch between frontend, backend, infrastructure, and database tasks to remove blockers and accelerate delivery

  • Act as a technical authority for diagnosing and resolving complex production issues and performance bottlenecks

  • Identify and automate inefficient or manual processes across the SDLC, including CI/CD, testing, and deployment

Mentorship and Organizational Lift

  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, setting a high bar for technical excellence, quality, and delivery speed

  • Help define and promote engineering standards, best practices, and design patterns

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure sound technical decisions

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated high-impact contributions

  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and TypeScript

  • Strong experience working in modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Deep experience in highly agile, fast-iteration development environments

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and performance optimization at scale

  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, virtualization, and modern database technologies

  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows

  • Excellent communication skills and English fluency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading or significantly overhauling critical systems or delivering projects end-to-end

  • Experience with rapid-development or high-velocity engineering methodologies

  • Contributions to open-source projects, conference speaking, or development of impactful internal tooling

What We Offer

  • 100% Remote work across EMEA

  • Competitive compensation aligned with seniority and impact

  • Opportunity to work on mission-driven, high-impact products in the cybersecurity space

  • Collaboration with a highly senior, globally distributed engineering team
