Department: NICU

Shift timings: 19:00-07:30 Hours. Monday to friday (3 Days/12 Hours)

Per week: 36 Hours

​Registered Nurses are responsible for providing nursing care to patients in collaboration with families in accordance with the American Nurse's Association Standards of professional Nursing Practice. The Registered Nurse is expected to provide primary nursing care for patients, and to assume responsibility for other nursing care process by assessment, plan of care, intervention and evaluation. Specifications : Must have and maintain current licensure in the State of Rhode Island. Maintains CPR and any other credentialing or certification necessary, to be competent as a Registered Nurse in an area of specialty. Must be proficient in the English language.​​

Responsibilities

​Providing round-the-clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants.

Caring for the basic needs of infants; for example, feeding and changing diapers.

Using and adjusting specialized medical equipment.

Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.

Comforting ill newborns and anxious parents and family members.

Offering support to parents and family members and educating them on the at-home care of their newborn.
